This year’s White House Historical Association ornament commemorates Gerald R. Ford’s administration. The two-sided holiday wreath features depictions of Christmas ornaments displayed during his time in the White House as our 38th president, from 1974 to 1977. The front of the wreath includes typical Christmas decorations, such as gingerbread men, candles, stars, baubles and more. The back of the wreath includes symbols related to Ford’s life and achievements: his Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout rank; a football from his time on the team at the University of Michigan; Liberty, the Ford family’s golden retriever; and the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier commissioned in his honor. |
